Man Met 'most popular university'

MANCHESTER Metropolitan University is officially the most popular university in the UK with record UCAS applications.

The University, renowned for its vocational courses and cosmopolitan atmosphere, attracted more applications through UCAS than any other institution.

It is the first time Manchester Met has topped the list for applications to higher education.

At the UCAS deadline (Jan 15), the University had received 52,750 applicants for courses starting in 2011, including 48,632 for degree programmes.
