Open Data, Open Minds, Open Hearts

A collaborative creative project produced by CING
In partnership with FutureEverything & Salford University

In response to FutureEverything’s open challenge, Creative Industries Networking Group (CING) has devised an opportunity to promote the skill, talent and activities of their membership to a wider audience.

CING intends to work with its network of over 750 creative professionals and the Manchester companies they represent to create a state-of-the-art mobile media platform, designed to provide visitors, tourists and business people a unique cultural perspective on the City of Manchester.

The project will enable Manchester’s creative and digital practitioners to showcase their creative output whilst furthering the city’s ‘open data’ credentials by building the platform around newly available data.

Dates
Outline of your content to be submitted by 3rd December 2010
Content submission deadline 28th February 2011
Mobile app/website to be test launched in May 2011 as part of FutureEverything
Full launch in Summer 2011, with additional content phases to be ongoing
